Today is Jeetendra's 79th birthday. Jeetendra, the Evergreen star of Hindi movies, was born on 7 April 1942 in a jeweler family in Amritsar, Punjab. We all know that Jeetendra was earlier known as Ravi. Jeetendra Kapoor is particularly known for his dance. Ravi Kapoor or Jeetendra Kapoor's family subsisted through a business. Their trade used to make artificial ornaments. He belongs to a middle-class family.

A group of boys always watched the first show of films in Goregaon, Mumbai. After watching the movie, he would tell the people how the film is.  Director V Shantaram had come to watch the film. He saw one of the boys' groups talking to people about the movie. V Shantaram was very impressed with the boy and decided that he would give him an opportunity to work in his film.

He called him and proposed to work in his movie 'Geet Gaya Patharon Ne.' The boy was Ravi Kapoor who later known as Jeetendra in the movie industry. Born on April 07, 1942, in a jewelry family, Jeetendra was inclined towards movies since childhood and wanted to become an actor. He always ran away from home to watch movies. Jeetendra started his film career with the 1959 movie 'Navrang' in which he got a chance to play a small role. For nearly 5 years Jeetendra struggled to get a job as an actor in the film industry. In the year 1964, he received a chance to work in V Shantaram's movie 'Geet Gaya Pattaron Ne.' Jeetendra managed to make his mark after this film.
