MG Sreekumar is turning a year older today. One of the popular singers and composers, MG Sreekumar has crooned over 20,000 songs in Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, and Hindi films. The ace singer has lent his voice for many Mohanlal starrer films and their collaborations have always resulted in exceptional songs. Nilavinte
This soulful number is from the 1995 film ‘Agnidevan’. “Nilavinte Neela” is composed by the legendary MG Radhakrishnan and Gireesh Puthenchery has penned the lyrics. This song features Mohanlal and Revathy.

Swaminaatha
MG Sreekumar has mastered the skill of effortlessly crooning all kinds of songs. And, “Swaminaatha” is a keerthanam he sang for the 1988 film ‘Chithram’. This song too features Mohanlal and MG Sreekumar’s song definitely won hearts. The singer has crooned most of the songs in this particular film.

Chanthupottum Chankelassum
MG Sreekumar’s voice is very much flexible. He could give life to a melody as well as a folksong and “Chanthupottum Chankelassum” is proof. The song is from the 1999 release ‘Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njaanum’. This song has a folk touch to it and is also filled with emotion. “Chanthupottum Chankelassum” also won him the National award for best playback singer.

Kanneerpoovinte
This heart-wrenching song wouldn’t have been so impactful if not for MG Sreekumar. The song is from the 1989 release ‘Kireedom’. This beautiful song is composed by Johnson and penned by Kaithapram Damodaran.

Karutha Penne
One of the popular songs of MG Sreekumar. “Karutha Penne” is from the 1994 film ‘Thenmavin Kombath’. The song is composed by Berny-Ignatius and Gireesh Puthenchery has penned the lyrics. MG Sreekumar crooned this playful duet with KS Chithra.
