Sharad Arvind Bobde (born 24 April 1956) is a former Indian judge who served as the 47th Chief Justice of India since November 2019.  He is also working as chancellor of Maharashtra National Law University, Mumbai, and Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur.

He has an eight-year term in the Supreme Court of India and is scheduled to retire on April 23, 2021. Bobde belongs to the Maharashtrian family of Nagpur. His great-grandfather Ramchandra Pant Bobde, a country-based Rigvedic Brahmin, was a famous lawyer in Chandrapur (then Chanda) between 1880 and 1900. The family later moved to Nagpur. His grandfather SrinivasRamchandra Bobde was also a lawyer. Bobde's father Arvind Srinivas Bobde was the Advocate General of Maharashtra in 1980 and 1985. Bobde's elder brother late Vinod Arvind Bobde was a senior Supreme Court lawyer and constitutional expert.

He enrolled as a lawyer on September 13, 1978, practiced in the Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court with a principal seat in Bombay and appearing before the Supreme Court of India, and became a senior advocate in 1998. The Bombay High Court promoted the Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court on 16 October 2012 before being promoted to a Judge of the Supreme Court of India on March 29, 2000, and later on April 12, 2013.
