Today is the birthday of Sushmita Sen, who maintained beauty even at the age of 46. Sushmita Sen captured millions of hearts with her style and performance. Sushmita Sen was born on November 9, 1975, at the house of Subir Sen and Subhra Sen in Hyderabad. Sushmita's father was a wing commander in the Air Force and mother Subhra was a jewellery designer. Sushmita was fond of acting and modelling from an early age which she completed as she grew up. At the age of 18, she won Miss India and Miss Universe titles. Yes, Sushmita won two major titles in 1994.

The first on the list was miss India's title and the second was miss universe crown. Sushmita was only 18 years old when she won both the titles and Sushmita Sen has also been awarded the title of India's first woman Miss Universe. Bollywood opportunities opened for Sushmita Sen after she became Miss Universe. She made her debut with Mahesh Bhatt's 1997 film Dastak though Sushmita Sen's film did not do well at the box office. She then starred in David Dhawan's 1999 film Biwi No.1 and the film was a super hit. Sushmita Sen has since appeared in a series of steamy films and is still doing wonders through web series.

You will be surprised to know that both Sushmita Sen and Aishwarya Rai were finalists in 1994 when the miss India competition was going on. It is said that both Aishwarya and Sushmita scored 9.33 points in the final round after which the judges decided that both of them would be asked one question each and the most reliable and accurate answer would be declared the winner. During that time, Sushmita Sen had given all the answers correctly and won the Miss India crown.
