Gama was born on 22 May 1878 in a Kashmiri family in Amritsar, Punjab. His full name was Ghulam Mohammad. He came to be known as 'The Great Gamma' in the world of wrestling. Gama's father Mohammad Aziz Bakhsh was a well-known wrestler.

After the father's death, Gama was adopted by the Maharaja of Datia and he was given training. Learning the tricks of wrestling, Gama had dusted off many legendary wrestlers at the age of just 10 years. For almost 50 years, he presented more than one example in wrestling without losing. Gamma's 5'7-inch body made him win in front of other wrestlers and faced their targets. That was the period of 1910 when America's wrestling legend was a big name in the world. But Gama defeated him and showed his strength to the whole world. There was no one in the whole world to defeat Gama, so he got the title of World Champion. In his life, Gama wrestled 50 famous wrestlers at home and abroad and took all the titles to his name by dusting them all off.

Gama used to take full care of his training and diet. It is said that once in a dose of gamma, there was 7.5 kg milk and 600 grams of almonds with it. Milk was also boiled 10 kg to 7.5 kg. Although the gamma wrestler had worn his wrestling flag in many countries, in 1910 he arrived in London with his wrestler brother Imam Bakhsh, where he was refused participation in the International Championship. But Gama gave an open challenge that he could defeat any wrestler and then he defeated the American champion Benjamin Roller in just 1 minute, 40 seconds. In 1895, Gama has confronted with witountry's greatest wrestler, Rustom-e-Hind Rahim Baksh Sultaniwala. Rahim was 6 feet 9 inches in length, while Gamma was only 5 feet 7 inches, but he did not fear at all. Gama wrestled equal wrestling with Rahim and eventually, the match was drawn. After this fight, Gama became famous all over the country. Although the gamma wrestler had worn his wrestling flag in many countries, but in 1910 he arrived in London with his wrestler brother Imam Bakhsh, where he was refused participation in the International Championship. India-Pakistan partition, Gama went to Lahore with his family. He lived there with the Hindu community. After the war, when tension on the border erupted, Gama vowed to save the lives of Hindus. When the mob attacked the people, they stood as a shield to save the Hindus. Gama stood with his wrestlers in defence of Hindus, after which no one dared to attack Hindus. Gama arranged for all Indians to stay with food and drink for several days and with moisture in the eyes, all of them left for India with full security. Gda Birla, the country's biggest businessman, spent 2 months every month Used to send thousands of rupees, it is also said that the government of Pakistan used to give pension to them. He was given land by the Government of India. The 'greatest wrestler in the world', who used to hold big wrestlers in the ring, lost his life due to heart disease. Gama said goodbye to this world on May 23, 1960, just a day after his 82nd birthday.
