She entered in the filmy world in 2005 with Pradeep Sarkar movie Parineeta in which she was seen acting opposite to the Saif Ali Khan. Her performance was liked and appreciated by the viewers. Before making her debut she acted in Ekta Kapoor serial Hum Paanch.

In 11 years, she has acted in 21 movies out of which three were blockbusters and each did a business of more than 100 crore. She even grasped many awards like National Film Award, Filmfare Awards and Screen Awards with her brilliant performance. In 2014, the Government of India honoured her with the Padma Shri.

No one killed Jessica actress in 2012 got hitched with CEO of Utv Motion pictures and film producer Siddharth Roy Kapur and they are happily living with each other.

Besides all this , she is kind and generous woman too. In 2011, she endorsed the World Wildlife Fund Earth Hour campaign and also she is the Brand Ambassador for promoting the clean sanitary condition in India. She is well educated too as her parents always wanted her to have a degree before she becomes heroine. She has a Master degree in sociology from the university of Mumbai.
