The important Hindu festival of Chaitra Navratri has begun today on April 13, Tuesday and will end on April 21 with Ram Navami. The nine-day-long festival dedicated to Maa Durga is full of rituals and beliefs.

Unfortunately, Devotees will not be able to pay obeisance in Navratri in the main Mata temples of the State. There is already a crowd ban in most temples because of the corona infection.

According to the Gregorian calendar, the Chaitra Navratri festival takes place in the months of March-April each year. The Ghatasthapana puja, Chandra Darshan will take place on April 13, 2021 - the first day of Chaitra Navratri.

There are four Navratris that fall in a year, while only two of them, Sharad Navratri and Chaitra Navratri are celebrated broadly.  Navratri is celebrated as different festival in different states – Gudi Padwa in Maharashtra, and Ugadi festival in Andhra Pradesh. On the auspicious festival of Chaitra Navratri, people greet their loved ones with wishes of a very Happy Navratri.

Let us great each other - “May this occasion of Chaitra Navratri bring new hopes, opportunities and challenges into your life to make it a prosperous one.”
