West Indies: As India intensifies their preparations for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup later this year, all-rounder Hardik Pandya from India has talked about the amount of bowling workload he can handle.

Pandya will proceed cautiously in the lead-up to the World Cup even though he believes his body is prepared to handle an increased bowling workload.

India and the West Indies are currently tied 1-1 in their three-match one-day international series. Hardik has yet to bowl all of his allotted 10 overs in either of the two games so far.

Pandya has bowled 6.4 overs in the second game, where he was leading the team, and three overs in the first game, totaling 9.4 overs in Rohit Sharma's absence.

Pandya has assured everyone that there is no need to worry about any niggling injuries or about his fitness despite only bowling in a limited capacity, saying, "My body is fine. I have to bowl more overs and get my workload up for the World Cup."

"I'm a turtle right now, not the rabbit and hoping everything goes right as the World Cup comes on."

The Indian team suffered a loss in the second game at the same location against the West Indies after easily defeating them in the first ODI in Barbados. The hosts made a valiant comeback.

India was bowled out for 181, and the West Indies completed the chase with six wickets remaining in 36.4 overs.

On Tuesday, the pivotal game will be played in Trinidad, and Pandya is excited for the challenge.

"To be honest, you want to be going 1-1 to the third game as it'll be more challenging and exciting. They will be tested; we will be tested now that the series stands 1-1. The next game will be exciting for the viewers as well as the players," he added.
