Malaysia is one of the tropical countries located in Southeast Asia. It is divided into 2 parts by the South China Sea. The Malacca Strait on the west coast of the mainland located on the Malay Peninsula and the South China Sea on its first coast. The second part of the country, sometimes called East Malaysia, is located on the northern part of the island of Borneo in the South China Sea. Kuala Lumpur, located on the Malay Peninsula, is the capital of the country, but recently the federal capital has been shifted to the new city of Putrajaya, specially built for administration. It is a federal state made up of 13 states.

Different ethnic groups like Chinese, Malay and Indian live in Malaysia. The official language here is Malay, but English is mostly used in education and economic fields. More than 130 dialects are spoken in Malaysia, 14 of which are spoken in Malaysian Borneo and 40 in the peninsula, English language is more popular among the youth. Although the country's official religion is Islam, but citizens have the freedom to follow other religions.

Malaysia has been a commercial center between China and India since ancient times. When Europeans came to the region, they made Malacca an ego trade port. Later Malaysia was made a colony of the British Empire. Its peninsular part became independent as Federation Malaya on 31 August 1957. In 1963, Malaya, Singapore and Borneo portions were formed together as Malaysia. 1965 Singapore separated and proclaimed its independence.
