Harmanpreet Kaur's Disappointing Record of most Ducks

Dhaka: In her team's match against Bangladesh on Tuesday, Indian Women's Team Captain Harmanpreet Kaur established a disappointing record.

India is currently playing Bangladesh in a three-match series at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka as part of its preparations for the T20 World Cup in 2024. With a commanding 7-wicket victory over the hosts, Indian women took the inaugural T20I.

The Women in Blue utterly collapse in the batting department during the second T20I, though. No batter, including Kaur, reached even 20 runs as India was bowled out for 95/8 in 20 overs. The Indian skipper, meanwhile, missed a wonderful opportunity and now has a humiliating record to her name. Smriti Mandhana has been overtaken by Kaur as the Indian woman with the most ducks inT20.

Kaur collected her sixth duck in the format after Sultana Khatun bowled her out for a golden duck. Mandhana, who has been shut out without a point in five T20Is, has now passed her.

Bangladesh's bowlers had a great day as they destroyed the Indian team. Sultana Khatun was the main destructor, taking three wickets for 21 runs in her four overs. Shafali Verma, Kaur, and Harleen Deol were all defeated by the off-spinner. In her four overs, Fahima Khatun also claimed a couple of wickets.

The first innings score of 95/8 against Bangladesh was the lowest for India in T20Is. Shafali Verma scored the most runs (19) during the outing, which saw no hitters reach the 20-run threshold.

Prior to this, the Women in Blue's lowest score against Bangladesh in this format was 101/1, which they achieved in March 2014. Punam Raut and Captain Mithali Raj both had perfect scores of 55 out of 64 and 42 out of 46, respectively. But Mithali's team was able to defeat their opponent by a score of 16.
