Government Employees get a Big Gift, Salary Increased In One Stroke!

Chandigarh: The Haryana government has issued an order to implement the revised House Rent Allowance (HRA) for its employees from August 1 as per the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission. Haryana State Finance Minister Captain Abhimanyu has issued the order in compliance with cm Manohar Lal Khattar's order. The employees will now be given 8, 16 and 24 percent rent allowance for basic salary according to the population of the cities.

The Finance Minister said, as per the 2011 census, state government employees posted in different cities and towns of the state will be given revised house rent allowance. After this change, employees and officers will get benefits ranging from Rs 1190 to Rs 6,000. The Government has also fixed a minimum amount of HRA according to the population. About three lakh employees and officers of the state government will be benefited after the HRA is amended.

Under the new change, cities with a population of 50 lakh or more have been categorized as X. Employees working in such cities will be provided with an HRA of 24 percent or a minimum of Rs 5400. Similarly, cities with a population of 5 lakh or more or less than 50 lakh will be classified as Y. The employees posted in such cities will be given house rent allowance of 16 percent or a minimum of Rs.3600.
