Drafting committee forms for strict law against 'Love Jihad' in Haryana

Punjab: Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij has tweeted today. In this tweet, he said, 'A three-member drafting committee has been formed to make a law on love jihad in the state'.He has written in his tweet, 'This committee include Home Secretary IAS TL Satyaprakash, ADGP IPS Navdeep Singh Virk and Additional Advocate General Haryana Deepak Manchanda'.


He has also told in his tweet, 'This committee will study the law on love jihad in other states and report to the state government.' There are many discussions about love jihad at this time. Many states are talking about making laws on it. In the sequence, the Chief Minister of Haryana has also said to make a law regarding Love Jihad. Apart from Haryana, several states including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Karnataka are preparing to enact a law on it.

On Tuesday, the UP cabinet approved an ordinance (law is yet to be enacted) to stop the incidents of 'Love Jihad'. His ordinance clearly states that such conversion will be seen as a category of crime that willfully, deceitfully, seduce, forcefully or unfairly effect marriage or any fraudulent means to bring one religion from another religion.
