Haryana's New Era: How BJP's Governance Transformed Corruption and Promoted Merit

The Haryana government has effectively eradicated the "parchi-kharchi system," bringing back trust and respect among its citizens. This corrupt practice, which relied on bribes and recommendations for government job placements, has been replaced with a merit-based approach. Today, young people from underprivileged backgrounds have the same opportunities to obtain government positions, turning their aspirations into reality.

A decade ago, the BJP government took charge in Haryana with the vision of "Haryana Ek, Haryanvi Ek" (One Haryana, One Haryanvi). Their mission was to achieve "good governance through systemic reform," and over the past ten years, they've built a solid governance structure based on this promise.

Today, the success of the BJP's two terms in Haryana is evident in their battle against the notorious "Perchi-Kharchi system." This system, which relied on bribery and connections, has been dismantled, restoring trust and dignity among Haryana's residents. The state's image has improved, and the reputation of its citizens has been enhanced.

Under the BJP's leadership, merit has become the sole criterion for school admissions and government jobs, eliminating the influence of recommendations and bribes. The government's principle of "no expense, no slip" has particularly benefited the most disadvantaged groups, allowing young people from poorer families to achieve their dreams of government employment.

Previously, securing a government job in Haryana often depended on one's connections with leaders and officials, with the interview process being a mere formality. Recruitment lists were often issued from leaders' offices, leaving eligible candidates at a disadvantage. Poor families struggled the most, finding it nearly impossible to secure these jobs. Today, recruitment is conducted transparently, without the taint of the old corrupt system, bringing hope and joy to many families.

The change is evident as children of labourers and rickshaw drivers are now landing government jobs. Reports highlight how individuals from humble backgrounds, such as a labourer's daughter or a farmer's son, have achieved these positions based on merit, instilling pride among the common people of Haryana.

Mission Merit: A Model of Transparency
A decade ago, the BJP launched "Mission Merit" to ensure transparency in government job recruitment. This initiative has become a benchmark for other states. A recent report from Risalia Kheda village in Sirsa district showcased 35 young people who secured government jobs through this transparent system, reflecting the government's commitment to honest and fair policies.

Haryanvis now recall a time when newspapers reported on leaders' relatives securing government positions. Today, the focus is on how children from modest backgrounds have achieved these roles based on merit.

The transformation under the BJP's governance has been profound. The elimination of corrupt practices like the "Perchi-Kharchi system" has renewed faith in the state's governance. By emphasizing merit, the government has created more opportunities for disadvantaged families, ensuring a fairer system for everyone.
