New Delhi: Around 8 officers posted in Delhi government and Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) have accused Arvind Kejriwal's government of 'harassment'. The officials of the Lieutenant Governor's office made this claim on Saturday (May 20). Officials in the Lieutenant Governor's office have said that two complaints were received earlier this year, while six complaints were received after May 11, the day the Supreme Court gave its verdict in favor of the Kejriwal government. At the same time, no reaction has been revealed from the Delhi government or the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on the allegation of harassment by the officials.

In such a situation, the question has started to arise that, after getting the power from the Supreme Court, has the Kejriwal government started torturing the officers? A Delhi government official has told that only after looking into the complaints, any reaction can be given on the allegations. Those complaining against the Kejriwal government also include five IAS officers, including Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar, former Services Secretary Ashish More, Special Secretaries Kinni Singh and YVVJ Rajasekhar and Energy Secretary Shurbir Singh.

Madhur Verma, head of the anti-corruption branch and IPS officer, Kunal Kashyap, IRS officer and collector in the MCD's home tax department, and Amitabh Joshi, deputy secretary posted in the service department, are also among the officers who have complained. In their complaint, Verma and Shurbir Singh, both residents of Punjab, alleged that their families were being targeted in their home state.

Officials have said that Shurbir Singh has informed the Lieutenant Governor's office that he has approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court against the harassment faced by his family. AAP is in power in Punjab and there has been no response from its side to the complaints of state officials. The tussle between the bureaucrats and the government in Delhi has been on the rise ever since the Supreme Court gave the Delhi government the power to transfer and posting officers etc. Since then, the AAP government has started discharging the disliked officers and new appointments are being made there.
