DUBAI: Pakistan pace bowler Hasan Ali was reprimanded on Saturday by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for violating Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the first Twenty20 International against Bangladesh in Dhaka on November 18. Hasan Ali was found to have violated Article 2.5 of the International Cricket Council's Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which prohibits "using language, actions, or gestures that disparage or could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during an international match." Hasan Ali's disciplinary record has also been updated with one demerit point for his first offence in a 24-month period.
The incident took place in the seventeenth over of Bangladesh's innings, when the Pakistan pace bowler gave an inappropriate send-off to batter Nurul Hasan after dismissing him caught behind the wicket. Bangladesh was additionally penalised 20 percent of their match fees for sustaining a sluggish over-rate in the match, as they were ruled one over short of the objective after time allowances were taken into account.
Players are penalised 20 percent of their match fees for each over their team fails to bowl in the allocated time, according to Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which deals with minimum over-rate offences.
