Hathras Case: Hearing to be held in High Court today, victim family leaves for Lucknow amid tight security

Lucknow: In the case of death of a 19-year-old Dalit girl after the alleged gang rape in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras district, the victim's family will appear before the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court amid tight security. The court will record the statement of the victim's family. On October 1, the court had summoned the family members of the deceased girl to give a statement regarding the incident.

For this, the victim's family left Hathras for Lucknow on Monday morning amidst heavy police security. SDM Anjali Gangwar CO Shailendra Bajpai has also left for Lucknow with the victim's family. District DM Praveen Targeter and Superintendent of Police are also present together. This case has been listed for hearing before the bench of Justice Pankaj Mittal and Justice Rajan Rai.

The High Court had ordered the district administration of Hathras to ensure the security of the girl's family members on Monday. The court has also directed the Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department, the Director-General of Police, the Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order), and the District Officer and Superintendent of Police of Hathras to present the status report of the investigation of the case.
