Mumbai: Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut was released from Arthur Road jail on Wednesday evening. Thereafter, he went to the Siddhivinayak temple to seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha. Sanjay Raut was accompanied by his brother MLA Sunil Raut and many party members. At the same time, on the exit of Raut, Aaditya Thackeray said that Tiger has returned.

In the same South Mumbai, Sanjay Raut also visited a Hanuman temple and Bal Thackeray memorial in Shivaji Park. Raut was released from jail at around 6.50 pm, but he was able to reach his residence in Nahur around 10.30 pm. Senior Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut's bungalow was decorated with lighting and hundreds of his supporters gathered outside his house to welcome him and burst crackers. Due to this, songs were also being played on the DJ. The 60-year-old Rajya Sabha MP was arrested by the ED on August 1 in a money laundering case related to a housing project in Goregaon.

Reacting to Raut's release, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and former minister Aaditya Thackeray said, "Tiger is back. He was put in jail, but he didn't run away like the 40 "traitor'' ran away.'' Former Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray spoke to Raut's family over the phone on Wednesday and described him (Raut) as "a warrior who never bowed to pressure". A source close to Thackeray said the party chief spoke to Raut's mother and wife over the phone and said that he would meet Raut soon.
