Coronavirus spread in many states of the country. Every state is trying its best to stop it. Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu have said that there is a need to reduce the number of domestic flights, especially from Mumbai and Ahmedabad, to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the state, because of the large number of corona infection cases here. He said that out of 72,468 samples taken in Punjab, only 2.8 percent came positive.

Chairing the review meeting of the Health Department in his statement, Balbir Sidhu said that most of the reported cases in Punjab are related to the travel history of other states and countries. Therefore, to prevent the spread of this virus, there is a need to focus exclusively on travellers coming from high-risk states and countries.

Apart from this, he said that he will discuss this important issue with Chief Minister in a cabinet meeting on Saturday. He said that it is on record that there are only 151 Corona positives in the state, which have no travel history. From 99.9 percent contact tracing, 1476 people have been found positive, which is about 8 percent. Balbir Singh Sidhu directed Director Health Services Dr Avneet Kaur to present the file of vacant posts of medical and para-medical staff.
