Itanagar: The Indian Air Force's Eastern Air Command has inducted heavy equipment in Arunachal Pradesh's inhospitable terrain to assist the Border Roads Organization (BRO) and General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF).

Eastern Air Command of the Indian Air Force tweeted that it had "given a big boost to Border Roads Organisation (BRO) and General Reserve Engineer Force (GREF) on 15 Feb by inducting heavy gear in very inhospitable terrain in Arunachal Pradesh." It stated that the specially cleared crew flying IAF Chinooks has made a substantial contribution to improving infrastructure and road connectivity in the North East.

Chinese soldier numbers at the Line of Actual Control have "slightly increased," said Army Chief General Manoj Pande on January 12. (LAC)."The number of Chinese soldiers deployed in opposition to our Eastern command has somewhat increased. We are closely monitoring the movements, "In January, General Manoj Pande said to media.

"We have been able to block any attempts by (the) adversary to unilaterally change the status quo in a robust manner," General Pande had remarked. His forces were stationed along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
The Army Commander added that they had effectively thwarted all attempts to change the status quo (on the LAC) without specifically mentioning China.

Significantly, a conflict along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the delicate Tawang area of Arunachal Pradesh occurred in December 2022 while India and China were engaged in a border stalemate in eastern Ladakh.
