Mandi: Midnight thunderstorms and rains damaged crops in Himachal Pradesh on Sunday, June 28, 2020. Due to this storm, one person died in Dharampur of Mandi district. Where this person slept on the terrace to escape the heat. As soon as the storm came, he started coming down from the roof and he fell down. The injured were brought to Dharampur Civil Hospital from where they were referred to Mandi. After which he died.

This entire incident has been confirmed by DSP Chandrapal of Sarkaghat. In the Mandi district, the roofs of many houses blew up, trees fell on vehicles and houses. Glasses of many vehicles are also broken. Some villages had no electricity till midnight. Due to this storm, the electricity department suffered a loss of around 25 lakh due to Sundernagar. Engineer Vikas Sharma Executive Engineer Vidyut Mandal Sundernagar said that power would be restored by evening in the city and for two days in many rural areas.

According to the information received, the maize crop in Khundia region of Kangra district has suffered heavy losses due to rains. In Thural Panchayat Bhranta, a tree fell on the house due to the storm. Some part of the slab of the house broke and cracks have also occurred in the walls. Panchayat head and Mata Patwari have visited the spot and reviewed the situation. In Mangalah village of Sundernagar, a tree fell on the house due to the storm. The night storm in Sarkaghat caused great destruction. Electrical wires were broken. In Nerchouk, the storm has caused heavy damage, roofs of dozens of houses have blown off.
