Tokyo: There is a possibility of a severe cyclone Hegbis hitting the coast of Japan on Saturday. The Meteorological Department says that the storm may cause up to 31 inches of rain. Due to this apprehension, the Rugby World Cup matches to be held on Saturday have been cancelled. Aircraft and rail services have also been stopped. In many areas of Japan, including the capital Tokyo, the storm is said to be more affected.

The country's AB Shinzo government has urged the people to collect the necessary items before taking the terrible form of the storm. Citizens have been asked to leave at-risk areas and move to safer places. According to the Meteorological Department, the Hagibis may have been a severe typhoon in Tokyo in 1958. More than 1200 people died from that storm.

Authorities investigated coastal beaches in which the city of Kiho southwest of Tokyo has been badly affected by the strong rains. Due to heavy rains, people have climbed shops and anchored on boats. Following the government's warning, the people of Tokyo are buying bottled water, noodles and other essentials so that no further problems arise.
