Mumbai: As 'Gadar 2' continues to make waves at the box office by surpassing the Rs 300 crore mark, audiences are flocking to theaters to witness the cinematic prowess of Sunny Deol and his film. Amidst a chorus of accolades, veteran actress and politician Hema Malini, who is married to Dharmendra, shared her review of the movie and applauded her stepson's achievement.

Hema Malini, the latest celebrity to shower praise on 'Gadar 2', watched the film on the evening of August 19 and engaged with reporters. She shared, "I've watched Gadar. I really liked it. It turned out as expected. The film is highly engaging. It felt like a film from the 70s and 80s era. Anil Sharma has beautifully captured that era through his direction."

Continuing her appraisal, she said, "Sunny is superb, Utkarsh, Anil Sharma's son, has also acted brilliantly. The new female lead [Simrat Kaur] is also very talented. The film evokes strong patriotic feelings towards the country and effectively portrays brotherhood towards Muslims, conveying a positive message in the end. It's a wonderful message for both India and Pakistan."

About the movie itself, 'Gadar 2' follows the journey of Tara Singh as he ventures across the border on a daring mission to rescue his son, portrayed by Utkarsh Sharma, who has been captured in Pakistan. Set in Lahore during the year 1971, 'Gadar 2' adeptly carries forward the captivating action sequences of its predecessor, while highlighting Tara Singh's unwavering determination to counteract the forces that fuel hatred between India and Pakistan. The film, directed by Anil Sharma, was released on August 11 and shared the box office arena with Akshay Kumar's 'OMG 2'.
