New Delhi: The weather in Delhi and NCR has once again taken a turn. Amid continuous falls in temperature, the capital witnessed drizzle late at night amid strong winds and a cloudy sky. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), cloudy skies and light rain are expected in the capital today due to the impact of a strong western disturbance affecting northwest India.
The rains are likely to increase the cold once again in Delhi. Rainfall and winds have brought down the temperature. According to the Meteorological Department, today i.e. on January 12, the minimum temperature of Delhi is 8 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is 20 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, Delhi has got relief from fog and visibility, which remains normal. According to the Meteorological Department, the plains of North India including Delhi will get relief from cold waves for the next 2 days. On these days, the minimum temperature of Delhi can go up to 9 degrees and the maximum temperature can go up to 20 degrees. However, after the rains, once again the cold wave may return with fog. Due to the partial effect of the western disturbance, there has been a slight increase in the temperature on Wednesday night, but due to the cold winds coming from the mountains, there is no relief from the cold. After January 13, the western disturbance will become even weaker. After which the second phase of severe cold can start.
Due to the influence of western disturbance, temperatures in Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, and Andhra Pradesh were seen increasing. This change in Delhi's weather is being seen due to the latest western disturbance. At present, many cities of North India including Uttar Pradesh are in the grip of cold. The situation has become such that people are not able to get out of their houses. It's hard to sit outside without a bonfire. According to the Meteorological Department, light rains are also expected in Karnal, Panipat, Deoband, Najibabad, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Kandhala, Bijnor, Khatauli, Sakoti Tanda, Hastinapur, Chandpur, Daurala, and Meerut.
