New Delhi: Tourist attraction is a parade ground near the Red Fort. The park exists in about four acres in front of the Red Fort. The old park will now be developed like a MCD heritage park, estimated at a cost of Rs 4.5 crore. Former North MCD mayor Jai Prakash said the park in front of the Red Fort is being developed as a heritage park.

Jai Prakash said this heritage park will be the centre of attraction among tourists. People visiting the Red Fort will also be able to enjoy the construction of the park when it is completed. He said a deadline of six months has been set to convert the old park into a heritage park. The former mayor of North MCD said earlier the beautification and development work of the park had come to a halt due to some reasons.

North MCD Chief Engineer Pradeep Bansal said the park is in front of jama masjid and near red fort. The red fort stones, such as the jama masjid carving snares, will be used to renovate the park. He said that not only will the walking track be built in the park, the old trees will not be tampered with. It may be mentioned that there are many parks in MCD, but most are in a bad condition.
