BCI-High Court may investigate irregularities in Jamia Hamdard's law school

New Delhi: In today's time everyone is shocked and disturbed due to the violent violence. Everyday crime is increasing the lives of many people. The High Court has directed the Bar Council of India (BCI) to investigate the alleged irregularities in the functioning of the Jamia Hamdard Law School and the appointment of the dean and in particular the eligibility of all the members of the board.

It is also being said that the High Court has asked the BCI and Jamia Hamdard to submit an inquiry report in this regard. The court has fixed the next hearing of the case on 12 May 2020. Justice Rajeev Shakdhar has issued notice to Jamia Hamdard, UGC, BCI and the Dean of the Hamdard Institute of Legal Studies and Research seeking a reply.

According to the information received, this petition has been filed on behalf of lawyer Mobashir Sarwar. The petition submitted demands the removal of SM Khan (retired public servant), the current dean of Hamdard Institute of Legal Studies and Research. The petitioner has said that he is not eligible to be appointed to the post of principal or dean of any law school in India. His educational qualification is not sufficient for this post.
