Shimla: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has released the list of its star campaigners for the Himachal Pradesh elections late on Saturday evening. Apart from Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, a total of 20 names including CM Bhagwant Mann, MP Sanjay Singh, Sandeep Pathak, Raghav Chadha are included. Satyendra Jain's name also included in the list of star campaigners of The Aam Aadmi Party. Jain is the Aam Aadmi Party's election in-charge in Himachal.
Himachal Pradesh, which has 68 assembly seats, will go to polls in a single phase on November 12. 26 days later, the counting will take place on December 8. The term of the Assembly ends on January 8, 2023. In the 2017 elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party formed the government with an absolute majority. In the 2017 elections, the BJP had won 44 seats and the Congress 22. CpiM won one seat and independent candidates won two seats.
In the 68-member Himachal Assembly, the BJP has 44 MLAs, the Congress 21, the CPI(M) one and two Independents. In the last assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party won there. However, the political history of Himachal is such that in the last few decades, the ruling party has failed to return to power again. At present, there is a BJP government led by Jai Ram Thakur in the state.
