Shimla: The BJP is trying to end the anti-incumbency trend in Himachal Pradesh since 1985. The ruling BJP is all set to replace a large number of MLAs in the state elections scheduled later this year. State CM Jai Ram Thakur said that the performance of the MLAs is being assessed and the change will definitely happen. In Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, the BJP had made history by forming the government by following this policy.

CM Thakur did not say how many MLAs could lose tickets, but he has said that the number will be bigger. "The performance of the MLAs is being very minutely evaluated. The party high command works very thoughtfully in this matter and these decisions are taken after a thorough evaluation. The results have always been positive, as we saw in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Those who have not performed and those with high anti-incumbency waves will definitely be replaced. A large number of MLAs will be replaced.''

CM Thakur further said that the BJP government is ready to return to power. The party has identified major projects, district and constituency-wise, to benefit the people. Funds have been released for these and a target has been set by August to complete it. We estimate that the ongoing projects worth about Rs 5,000 crore will be completed by August.
