Ranchi: Hindu leader Kamaldev Giri was killed by throwing a bottle bomb in Jharkhand's West Singhbhum district on Saturday (November 12, 2022). The situation became tense after his murder. There was also stone-pelting and vandalism in the city. Angry supporters were not allowing his body to be lifted. After much persuasion, his last rites were performed. But, the government promises made to his family and angry society have not been fulfilled yet. At the same time, the family of the deceased is sitting on a continuous hunger strike. His brother Phoolannath Giri told the media that a total of 9 criminals have been arrested so far after the murder. Among these criminals, 7 are Muslims and 2 are Hindus. So far, the names of Hashim, Shakir, Rakib, Zahid, Shahnawaz, and Abhishek have come to light. Phoolannath blamed local JMM MLA Sukhram Oraon for the entire incident and said the police did not have the courage to arrest them. It was further told that no criminal has been granted bail so far, although all the criminals have filed bail applications.

According to Phoolannath, even after being a government advocate, he will also try to get the strictest punishment to the culprits by presenting his own lawyer. During the discussion with the media, Phoolannath, the brother of the deceased, started crying. He said that about 10 days after the murder of his brother, they all demanded a CBI inquiry into the case and narco of the culprits, which was not assumed yet. He said that when his demand was not met, he announced a hunger strike with his family. Wherever they asked for a place for a hunger strike, the local administration refused, warning of the imposition of Section 144. Eventually, he began his strike next to his house where his brothers worked in public service. When asked the reason for demanding a CBI probe, the victim's family said that the Jharkhand police can never bring out the identity of local MLA Sukhram Oraon. Phoolannath said that even after the constant continuation of his hunger strike, no one from the ruling party is ready to talk to him. He said that during the lifting of the brother's body, the administration had assured to seriously consider the demands like compensation and job, but so far not a single administrative officer has come to his house to talk about this.

Phoolannath said, apart from his family members, well-wishers also gather during his strike. He told that the senior leaders of the BJP are knowing the condition of his family. Phoolannath said a person named Najju Ansari has threatened a well-wisher who participated in the strike demanding justice for his brother. Refusing to reveal the name of his well-wisher for security reasons, Phoolannath said that many people are scared after the murder of his brother Kamaldev. According to Phoolannath, the threatening Najju Ansari is very special to JMM MLA Sukhram Oraon and leads all his wrongdoings. However, stating that police can't do anything, the brother of the deceased Kamaldev said that this is the reason why the complaint of this threat was not lodged.
