Mumbai: Union minister Narayan Rane's son and BJP MLA from Kankavli (Sindhudurg) Nitesh Rane is once again in the news. This time Nitesh Rane has threatened the people of the village due to the ongoing election campaign for the gram panchayat. He has said that if the sarpanch is not of his choice, then they will not get a single penny from the government fund.
At an election rally in Nandgaon, Nitesh Rane said that if the villagers do not choose the sarpanch of his choice even by mistake, he will not allow government funds to reach the village and this village will be away from development. Villagers and sarpanches were present there during this rally. Nitesh Rane said, "I will be very clear about it. Any village that chooses the sarpanch of my choice will receive funds from me. I don't hide anything; I was trained at the Narayan Rane School of Thought. if the sarpanch is not of his choice, then they will not get a single penny from the government fund. Consider it a threat or something else, my statement is clear."
Reminding the villagers that he is an MLA of the ruling party, Nitesh Rane said that while voting, keep in mind that all funds are in his hands, be it district planning fund or rural development fund, or central fund. I am the MLA of the ruling party, be it the foster minister, collector, minister of concerned departments, or deputy CM and CM - no one will give financial help to Nandgaon without asking me. That's why keep in your mind that if the sarpanch is not of Nitesh Rane's choice then there will be no development in Nandgaon. Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray, UBT) has reacted strongly to this threat. Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Vaibhav Nayak said, "Such was the arrogance when Narayan Rane was the CM. We are witnessing the same intoxication of power now. However, the people of Sindhudurg will show him the place, as they showed Narayan earlier by defeating him."
