Mumbai: Afzal Khan's tomb is located near Pratapgarh Fort, built by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Mahabaleshwar in the Satara district of Maharashtra. This is the same Afzal Khan, who was put to death by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The demolition action has been started from today (November 10, Thursday) morning against the illegal construction around this grave. This action is being taken by the Forest Department of Eknath Shinde Government of Maharashtra. But, in the meantime, the Hindu Mahasangh chief Anand Dave has demanded that the graves of Aurangzeb and Afzal Khan, who were enemies of Hindavi Swaraj, be demolished. A mere crackdown against illegal constructions in the vicinity is not enough.

While talking to the media, Hindu Mahasabha President Anand Dave said, 'For a long time, we have been demanding the removal of encroachment near Afzal Khan's grave. The work of giving divinity to a demon like Afzal Khan was being done by some anti-social elements. Aurangzeb, Afzal Khan had harassed Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Hindus were tortured. Hindus were murdered, and their temples were demolished. So why should have their graves or tombs?

Hindu Mahasangh president Anand Dave said, 'Destroy these tombs of Afzal Khan and Aurangzeb as soon as possible. If the government cannot do this, then the Hindu Mahasangh itself will do this work. The outcome of the enemy of Swaraj should be visible. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj provided grave sites for Afzal Khan and others. But his descendants and relatives did not love Hindustan and Hindus. Because of this, I feel that there is no place for these tombs here.
