Ahmedabad: The criminals of Bilkis Bano are leading a normal life in their village after their release from jail. The same one has also opened his own firecracker shop on the occasion of Diwali in the village itself, which is right in front of the old house of Bilkis Bano. Bilkis Bano has left her home here and is living in fear away from the village. Radheshyam Shah, a criminal in the rape and murder case, was serving a life sentence, but on August 15, he was released along with all the criminals, who are now leading normal life.

The criminals of Bilkis live in the village of Randhikpur in the Dahod district of Gujarat and some have their houses around this village. According to a report received, the village has a population of less than 4000. Govind Nai, one of the 11 criminals said, ''We are innocent. Have you seen an uncle and nephew raping someone in front of each other? Does it happen in the Hindu community? No, Hindus don't do that." The criminals who are serving life imprisonment have been released prematurely by the BJP's state and central governments.

According to the report, some of the perpetrators of the case had even threatened the witnesses after they were out on parole. However, he has been released in the name of his "good behaviour". The criminals came out on parole for 3 years before their release on the occasion of Independence Day. The perpetrators of the rape of a woman were released after PM Narendra Modi's speech at the Red Fort, in which he chanted "respect for women". According to the report, Govind Nai had threatened two witnesses in 2017 due to his parole. He also refused to talk about it. It is said that Bilkis Bano did not return to the village again after that incident. His house has now been converted into a shop, which he has rented out to a Hindu woman who sells clothes to his family. There is a multi-storeyed house right in front of the house of Bilkis Bano, which according to the report belongs to Radheshyam, who is a criminal in the case.
