Have you ever heard of a wall that has divided a country into two parts and that too overnight, but after a few years, those two parts have become one again. Yes, today we are going to tell you about such a wall. Who divided a country into two parts. The name of this wall is the Berlin Wall, which is in Germany. This wall divided the city of Berlin into eastern and western pieces for 28 years. Its construction started on 13 August 1961, which lasted until the morning of 14 August and was disbanded on 9 November 1989.

Let us tell you that this Berlin wall was about 160 kilometers long. The campaign to make it was named 'Operation Pink'. In fact, the story behind the construction of this wall is such that when Germany was partitioned after World War II, hundreds of artisans and businessmen left East Berlin and went to West Berlin every day. Apart from this, some people had also left East Berlin for political reasons, due to which East Germany was suffering a lot of damage, both economically and politically. Finally, to prevent the migration of people, a wall was thought to be built and today the world knows it as the Berlin Wall. It was approved by Nikita Khrushchev, the supreme leader of the Soviet Union. It is also believed that the migration of people decreased to a great extent after the wall was built. According to an estimate, between 1949 and 1962, where 2.5 million people left East Berlin and went to West Berlin, between 1962 and 1989 only five thousand people.

However, due to the construction of the wall, many people had to lose their lives as well, because whenever someone tried to sneak a wall and go from East Berlin to West Berlin, he was shot directly. However, despite this, many people had found unique ways to cross the wall, such as, people would cross the wall by making a tunnel or even enter the hot air balloon and cross the wall. Apart from this, people used to go out on high speed trains breaking the wall. Demonstrations began against the Wall in East Germany when the Soviet Union began to weaken in the 1980s. The wall was finally broken on November 9, 1989, and Germany was reunited.
