Diwali festival celebrated every year is going to be celebrated on 14 November this year. This festival is of 5 days and the festival of Bhai Dooj is included in this list. This festival will be celebrated on 16 November this year. This festival is considered a festival of brotherly love. This festival shows the unwavering love of both. On this day the sisters apply tilak to their brother and after that pray for their longevity and progress. Today we are going to tell you the story related to this festival.

According to the scriptures, Lord Surya's wife Sangya had two children which are a son Yamraj and second daughter Yamuna. Sangya was not able to bear the sun, due to which she built her shadow and left it to her son and daughter. Her shadow had no attachment to Yamraj and Yamuna, but both Yamraj and Yamuna had a lot of love for each other. Yamraj loved his sister Yamuna very much but due to the abundance of work, he could not visit his sister. One day Yamraj went to his sister's house to meet her to overcome her displeasure.

When Yamuna saw her brother, she was elated with joy. She made dishes for her brother and expressed her respect. Yamraj was very happy to see the love of his sister towards him. He gave many gifts to Yamuna. When it was time to walk, while taking leave, Yamraj asked sister Yamuna to ask for a gift of her wish. Then Yamuna, listening to her brother's request, said, if you want to give me a gist, then give this boon that today you will come here every year and accept my hospitality. It is said that this is the reason that every year we celebrate the festival of brotherhood.
