Coimbatore: Three hotels in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, recently received email threats claiming that bombs had been planted on their premises. The police were alerted on October 25 and quickly responded by sending teams equipped with sniffer dogs to search the locations.

Fortunately, after their investigations, authorities confirmed that the threats were a hoax and no explosives were found.

In a related development, the Selvapuram police have made significant progress in another case, having arrested seven individuals connected to a robbery that occurred near the Selvachinthamani tank in April of this year. The gang is accused of orchestrating an elaborate plan that involved causing a vehicle accident to target a group of jewellers. Following the accident, they allegedly inflicted cut injuries on the victims and stole approximately 270 grams of gold.

Authorities are continuing their efforts to ensure public safety and are investigating any potential links between the bomb threats and the recent criminal activities in the area. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police.

After thorough investigations, authorities confirmed that the threats were a hoax and nothing dangerous was found at the hotels. The establishments involved are located in the Leela Mahal, Kapila Theertham, and Alipiri areas.

Currently, the police are working to trace the origin of these threatening emails. According to reports, one of the emails had a subject line stating: “Pak ISI to activate Improvised EDs in listed hotels, Evacuated by 11PM! TN CM involved.” The message referred to “international pressure” related to the arrest of former DMK functionary Jaffer Sadiq and suggested that such incidents were aimed at distracting attention from the involvement of M.K. Stalin's family in the case.
