Hockey India has revised the evaluation criteria of the tournament officials and umpires, which is part of the change in the performance report structure of the officials. This report is the most effective way to assess the actions of tournament officials and umpires in domestic tournaments.
In May, Hockey India announced the beginning of the classification of the registered tournament officials of Hockey India as consisting of three grades of technical representative, umpire manager, technical officer, judge and umpires.
The grading will be done out of 100 (based on percentage) with the main focus on umpires' performance reports (all domestic tournaments), fitness test results and online test results, while performance reports of all domestic tournaments for other officials and online The result of the test will be based on. The performance of the umpires will now be assessed in each match and the umpire manager will submit the report of their performance to the umpires and Hockey India after the completion of the respective matches.
