Home Minister Amit Shah wishes nation on Constitution Day

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday bowed to the country's first Law Minister Babasaheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar on Constitution Day, saying that the Central government led by PM Narendra Modi should provide social and economic justice to every section of the society as per the constitution. 

Home Minister Amit Shah tweeted, 'Our progressive constitution is the greatest power of unity and development of India. Today, on Constitution Day, I bow to Babasaheb, the architect of the Indian Constitution. The Modi government is committed to providing social and economic justice to every section of the country in accordance with the dreams and constitution of the great men of the country.' Constitution Day is being celebrated across the country today. This day is also known as National Law Day throughout the country and reminds us of the adoption of the Constitution in the country.

The Constituent Assembly of the country duly adopted the existing Constitution on 26 November 1949, which came into force on 26 January 1950. In 2015, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment notified the government's decision to celebrate 26 November as 'Constitution Day'.
