The Union Home Ministry has officially declared the 'Muslim League Jammu Kashmir (Masarat Alam faction)' (MLJK-MA) as an 'Unlawful Association' under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (UAPA). This declaration, made on 27th December, comes in response to the organization's alleged involvement in activities deemed anti-national and secessionist within the region of Jammu and Kashmir.

Union Minister Amit Shah expressed concerns about the group's engagement in activities that undermine the nation's interests. He stated, "The 'Muslim League Jammu Kashmir (Masarat Alam faction)'/MLJK-MA is declared as an 'Unlawful Association' under UAPA. This organization and its members are involved in anti-national and secessionist activities in J&K, supporting terrorist actions and inciting people to establish Islamic rule in J&K."

Furthermore, Shah emphasized the government's firm stance against any threats to the unity, sovereignty, and integrity of the nation. He reinforced this message, stating, "The PM @narendramodi government's message is loud and clear that anyone acting against the unity, sovereignty, and integrity of our nation will not be spared and face the full wrath of the law."
