New Delhi: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief and Lok Sabha MP from Hyderabad Asaduddin Owaisi has now been given Z-plus security across the country after his car was fired upon. The Government of India has announced it. The Union Home Ministry has said that the Z+ security of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) will remain with them across the country. 

It may be recalled that on Thursday evening, there was a firing on Asaduddin Owaisi's car in the Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh. He was returning to Delhi after campaigning. The attack took place ahead of the UP assembly elections, after which the debate on the issue has started. In fact, Asaduddin Owaisi was returning to Delhi from Hapur district of the poll-bound state of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, when unidentified persons opened fire on his car. However, Owaisi said he was safe.

The AIMIM chief's car was near the Chhijarsi toll plaza on the Hapur-Ghaziabad section of national highway 24, in the meantime, the incident took place at around 6 pm. After which Owaisi tweeted, "Some time ago, there was firing on my car at the Chhijarsi toll gate. There were 3-4 people who attacked, all of them ran away and left the weapons there. My car got punctured, but I got into the other car and left. We are all safe.''
