New Delhi: By March 2023, Indian consumers will be able to buy the redesigned fifth generation City sedan from Japanese automaker Honda. The car will get a distinct makeover and will get cosmetic improvements.

Additionally, a larger cabin with several tech features will be available. The four-wheeler will no longer be offered with a diesel engine and will instead opt for gasoline and gasoline-hybrid powertrains.

Since its launch in India in 2020, the fifth generation Honda City is about to get its first update. Apart from the cosmetic improvements, the petrol-hybrid powertrain will now be available in more trims than the previous model.

The sedan will face competition from the likes of Hyundai VERNA, SKODA SLAVIA, Volkswagen Virtus, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz among others in our market.

The 2023 Honda City will feature a sculpted bonnet, a sleeker grille, a wider air dam, a revised bumper and LED headlamps with DRLs. Black B-pillar, new ORVMs and newly designed alloy wheels will surround it. At the back end, options will include a wrap-around LED taillight, a raked windscreen and a shark-fin antenna.

A 1.5-liter petrol engine with 121 horsepower and a 1.5-liter petrol-hybrid engine with 126 horsepower will power the Honda City (facelift). The vehicle will have a 5-speed manual, CVT, or e-CVT transmission as your choice.

Five seats, a wireless charger, ventilated seats, automatic climate control, rear AC vents and cruise control should all be standard in the new Honda City.
It should feature an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Six airbags, ABS, EBD, crash sensors and a rear-view camera will keep the passengers safe.

During its launch event, Honda will announce the price and availability details for the 2023 City in India. The car will probably be priced higher than the starting price of the current model, which is Rs. 11.87 lakh (ex-showroom).
