Management is engaged in charging arbitrary fees from patients admitted to hospitals during corona infection. 2100 rupees per day of PPE kit, face mask worn by doctors and nursing staff in the name of item charge. In the latest case, Choithram Hospital has recovered Rs 2150 per day in the name of item charge from pneumonia patients admitted for 10 days. Prem Nagar resident Sanjay Khetpal was admitted to Choithram Hospital on 15 April due to pneumonia and cough. According to him, he was treated by 20 April. After that the hospital also stopped giving any kind of medicines. His corona investigation report was not revealed due to which he was kept in hospital for five days till 25 April. According to Khetpal, the hospital management made a 10-day treatment bill of Rs 1 lakh.

He told me about this that my treatment lasted for five days. For five days, he stopped needlessly for the report. If 10 thousand rupees are added per day for five days, then it is 50 thousand rupees. 50 thousand rupees were taken unnecessarily. In a bill of one lakh, we should recover 39 thousand rupees in the name of item charge. While the bill that was given, information of only 15800 rupees was given in the item charge. Opposing this, asked for complete information about the item charge, then the hospital management said that our software is new, due to which we will not be able to give information. The hospital charged a similar item charge from patients admitted in semi-private and general wards.

Khetpal says that the doctors and nurses who were coming to see and treat patients in the ward, wore the same PPE kit throughout the day. The charge of PPE kit was to be divided among all patients. But the management is charging different charges from all the patients. Apart from the item charge, the nursing charge from the patients was also taken at Rs 550 per day, which is Rs 5500 for 10 days.
