How Indian Diaspora in US Gearing Up for 'Pran Pratishtha' Celebration at Times Square

As the historical and religious event of the 'Ram Mandir' consecration ceremony approaches in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, the Indian diaspora in the United States is actively preparing for a unique celebration at the iconic Times Square in New York City. Scheduled for January 22, the ceremony in Ayodhya will be live-streamed at this prominent location in the heart of New York.

Giant billboards featuring Lord Ram and the majestic shrine have already adorned more than 10 states across the United States, including Texas, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, and Georgia. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), US chapter, in collaboration with Hindus from various states, has strategically placed over 40 billboards to broadcast the significance of the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony at the birthplace of Shri Ram Lalla.

According to the VHP's American chapter, the states of Arizona and Missouri are also set to join this visual celebration, commencing on Monday, January 15.

Amitabh VW Mittal, the general secretary of the Hindu Parishad of America, expressed the elation of Hindu Americans, stating, “The resounding message conveyed by these billboards is that Hindu Americans are elated and joyously participating in this once-in-a-lifetime event. Their emotions overflow as they eagerly await the auspicious day of the consecration ceremony.”

Teja A Shah, joint general secretary of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, America chapter, shared the excitement within the Hindu community in New Jersey. Members are eagerly anticipating a series of events, including Car Rallies, Exhibitions, Curtain Raisers, Billboards across New York and New Jersey, leading up to the grand celebration on the night of the 21st.

“The enthusiasm is palpable, with members from Mandirs across NJ eagerly looking forward to this once-in-a-generation event," Teja said.

Apart from the visual celebrations, the Hindu American community across the US has organized several car rallies and has planned numerous events in the lead-up to the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony in Ayodhya.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to attend the ceremonial installation of the idol of Shri Ram Lalla inside the sanctum sanctorum of the grand temple on January 22.

The Vedic rituals for the Pran-Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya are scheduled to begin on January 16, a week before the main ceremony. The anticipation and excitement within the Indian diaspora in the US reflect the deep connection and reverence for this significant religious event.
