The truth about Box-office revenue is out

Bollywood industry is the largest in the world not only in terms of movies produced but content-wise too. Amass films are being produced and released every year in the Bollywood industry. But what amount does a film really generate and receive is never revealed truly. Every film studio and producer is trying to lead with a fake figure and number his film has earned to rule the box office.

Does any of the audience really understand the difference between 'gross' to 'net' or he needs to know how many crores a film has ranked in? On the cause, Akshaye Rathi, who is an industry expert, exhibitor, and distributor, has informed the media outlets about the real revenue generation.

While asking about how correct are all those box office figures given by the producers to media outlets, Akshaye as per the sources news told "The only place where producers probably give the actual figures is in their Income Tax returns. the only one who gets fooled by these kinds of gimmicks of giving out inflated figures is the producer himself. Because trust me when I say this, the entire trade knows what the reality of a film is.  It is unfortunate but I think that more important than creating a false perception, it is better to accept the reality and work towards bettering yourself."

When he was asked about the producer to be blamed for this trend, industry expert said "The reason why multiple figures come out every single day for every single film is because the producer gives out one figure, the trade and trade analysts give out another figure and the stars and fans of the star give out a whole new figure."

Commenting on the real figures, he repeated "The authentic figure is the one that the producer gets, but doesn’t give out! But having said that, there are a few companies like a Yash Raj Films, which is a principled organization and would not inflate or deflate figures for the heck of it. They are the kind of company which will accept a flop when a film flops and celebrates a hit when a film becomes a hit."
