How Odisha's Approval of Seven Key Projects Marks a Major Economic Boost

Odisha Greenlights Seven Major Projects Worth Rs 80,125 Crore: Odisha has given the green signal to seven major projects, totaling an investment of Rs 80,125 crore across various sectors, according to an official announcement. The nod for these projects came during a High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA) meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

The approved projects are set to create job opportunities for approximately 24,552 individuals across sectors like steel, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, and chemicals.

These projects will be scattered across Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Ganjam, and Bhadrak districts.

Granules Life Sciences Private Limited, a prominent pharmaceutical producer in India, is set to establish a pharmaceutical unit at Tata SEZ, Gopalpur in Ganjam district. The company aims to manufacture 4 billion units of various pharmaceutical products, investing Rs 1,100 crore and providing employment to about 1,500 people.

Granules CZRO Private Limited will also establish a chemical plant for pharmaceutical products at Tata SEZ, with an investment of Rs 2,000 crore and job opportunities for approximately 1,000 individuals.

EG Solwin Hybrid Private Limited plans to set up a green ammonia production unit at Tata SEZ, investing Rs 6,330 crore and employing 1,050 people.

ACME Greentech Urja Private Limited intends to set up a manufacturing unit in Khurda for producing solar power panels, investing Rs 36,000 crore and creating around 6,300 jobs.

Waaree Clean Energy Solutions Private Limited, the largest solar panel manufacturer in India, will establish a green ammonia plant in Jagatsinghpur with an investment of Rs 12,480 crore, offering employment to 3,250 people.

Action Ispat proposes to expand its steel production capacity at its Jharsuguda plant from 0.37 MTPA to 7.5 MTPA, investing Rs 21,000 crores and generating job opportunities for another 10,000 individuals.

OFB Tech Private Limited will establish a manufacturing unit in Dhamra, Bhadrak, investing Rs 1,615 crore and creating jobs for 1,500 people.

"The state government has consistently shown support for business leaders investing in the state. With these projects underway, Odisha's economy is poised for significant growth, reinforcing its status as the top destination for investments and industrial development in eastern India," stated the Industries Department.
