A friendly rivalry with a co-worker affects the monotony during the office hours. Good and healthy competition is a must for a person to perform well. It keeps oneself motivated to do better, think better and perform better. Co-Worker competition might be in terms of Creativity, Management, execution and others. However, an over-competitive environment is a bit of a problem. The rivalry nature to exceed in everything causes the problem for all. These people would never let a meager chance to others to perform; they snatch out every little thing. These types of people can be dealt in a few ways:

- Sitting and worrying about the problem won’t give any solution rather it will increase the stress. Communicate directly to them and solve the problem. In a more professional tone as a warning make them understand why you are giving a warning.

- Once the communication is over, take the next step. Shift your focus. If the co-worker doesn’t give enough space for you to compete start competing with yourself. Set goals and try to accomplish them. This improves work performance.

- Make friendship with others. Concentrate on building strong professional relationships with other co-workers; it will help you lose focus on a competitive co-worker. Respect other's work and boost others it will improve the relationships and you can feel more positivity in and around yourself.

- If after professional warning, shifting focus and losing focus on coworker did not work make the next move. Speak to your manager, explain the situation and find the right solution to the problem. After all, a healthy and positive work atmosphere is needed for anyone to perform well.
