This plan could be announced in the upcoming weeks, pending a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and an agreement on the release of captives, which is still being negotiated. The architects of the plan aim to kick-start the agreement before Ramadan, which begins on March 10.

Last night, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand jointly called for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza. This move was prompted by reports of Israel's planned military operation in Rafah.

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin had a phone conversation with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, discussing negotiations for captive release and IDF operations in Khan Yunis.
