Hrithik Roshan landed into trouble after his Zomato ad. In the ad that went on-air recently , Hrithik can be heard saying, “Thali khane ka mann tha, Mahakal se manga liya (Wanted to have a thali, ordered it from Mahakal).”

This does not go well with the people and, Boycott Vikram Veda started trending. "In an ad, @iHrithik says “Thaali khane ka man tha, Mahakal se mangaa liya"...Mahakal is no servant who delivers food to those who demand it, He is a God who's worshipped. Could @zomato insult a God of another religion with the same courage?"

After this Zomato in a official statement wrote, “The Hrithik Roshan-starrer ad that ran in specific pin codes of Ujjain reference 'thalis' at 'Mahakal Restaurant', and not the revered Shree Mahakaleshwar Temple. Mahakal Restaurant is one of our high-order-volume restaurant partners in Ujjain, and thali is a recommended item on its menu “We deeply respect the sentiments of the people of Ujjain, and the ad in question is no longer running. We offer our sincerest apologies, for the intent here was never to hurt anyone's beliefs and sentiments,”

Earlier Priest of Mahakal also showed is disappointment on the ad and said, , the company should think before issuing such ads. Hindu society is tolerant, it is never violent. If there was another society, such a company would have been set on fire. The company should not play with our sentiments like this. The company has made this misleading publicity. The priest said, in the Mahakal temple food area, food is given to the devotees in a plate, but there is no provision to deliver the food from the plate. The company which is also delivering non-veg food, it should immediately stop the misleading advertisement of thali in the name of Mahakal. The company has hurt the sentiments of Hindus. We strongly oppose this. If the company does not apologize then we will go to court.
