Huma Qureshi, a renowned actress in Bollywood, celebrates her birthday today, July 28. Born and raised in Delhi, Huma's journey to stardom is an inspiring tale of perseverance and passion. Despite her parents' initial disapproval, Huma pursued her dream of becoming an actress, and today, she is a household name.

Huma's parents, like any typical Indian parents, wanted her to focus on her studies and pursue a stable career. However, Huma had other plans. She began her journey in theater during her college days, joining the "Act 1" theater group. Her parents, though, wanted her to pursue an MBA abroad. In an interview, Huma recalled, "My dad thought I had lost my mind due to excessive studying. He advised me to go abroad and do an MBA. But when I told him that I would regret it my entire life if I didn't pursue my dreams, he became emotional. The next day, he took me to Mumbai and gave me an ultimatum: 'If nothing works out in a year, return home.'"

Huma moved to Mumbai in 2008 and auditioned for the film "Junction," which never saw the light of day. She then signed a two-year contract with a company to work on TV ads. Her first advertisement was with Abhishek Bachchan, and she went on to work with Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan in subsequent ads. It was during the shoot of an ad with Aamir Khan that Huma met Anurag Kashyap, who directed the ad. Anurag promised Huma a role in his next film, which turned out to be "Gangs of Wasseypur" (2012).

The film, starring Huma alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Manoj Bajpayee, and others, brought her into the limelight. Since then, Huma has appeared in numerous films and web series, including the critically acclaimed "Maharani." Today, she is a respected actress in the Indian film industry, and her journey is an inspiration to many young aspirants.

Huma's story is a testament to the power of following one's dreams, even if it means going against the wishes of loved ones. Her perseverance and hard work have paid off, and she continues to shine in the entertainment industry.
