Hungary: Hungary's prime minister Viktor Orban was re-elected president of the ruling Fidesz party with a resounding victory here on Sunday. According to sources, Orban was re-elected as the party's sole candidate for the next two years during a Fidesz Congress, and will lead the party in the general elections next spring.
"We might be among the most developed countries in ten years if we continue to govern. Hungary is still a developing country, and we can only progress if we work more precisely and produce children who are brighter than we are "The Prime Minister stated. "There are still difficulties to solve: there aren't enough children, salaries and pensions aren't high enough, there are still impoverished people, and not everyone has a home," Orban said ahead of the election.
"We need to defend our results from migrants, who are standing in lines at the Polish border, or who come from the sea, but also from the epidemic, in order to preserve lives," Orban said, emphasising the significacne of security in order to defend what his administration has accomplished. Orban also stressed the importance of getting more people immunised.
He also slammed the "international network run by Brussels, which wants to make families pay for climate change." Orban criticized the opposition, accusing them of secretly backing the Covid-19 anti-vaxxers and preferring Brussels to Budapest.
