Bhopal: A shocking incident has come to light from Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. Here, when the wife came home late, the fight escalated so much that the husband first beat the wife and later committed suicide by setting herself on fire. On receiving the news, the police reached the spot, extinguished the fire with the help of firemen and took out the half-burnt body.  

This matter is from Awadhpuri area of ​​Bhopal. Pradeep Nair (46), State Program Manager of an NGO, living in Nakshatra Apartment here, committed suicide by setting fire to his flat. Pradeep had got married for the second time a year ago on 14 February 2023. The name of the second wife is Niharika (27) who herself is associated with an NGO. According to Avadhpuri Police, after divorcing his first wife, Pradeep Nair married Niharika, who was 19 years younger than him, for the second time on Valentine's Day last year. Both Pradeep and Niharika worked for different NGOs. 

While Pradeep was posted in Raipur, Niharika was associated with an NGO in Bhopal. Pradeep came to Bhopal on Saturday. When his wife came home late at night, there was a huge fight between them and Pradeep beat Niharika. When Niharika ran away from the flat to escape the beating, Pradeep locked the flat from inside and set himself on fire. When the neighbors saw the fire and smoke from the flat, they called the police and fire department and extinguished the fire. Pradeep's burnt body was recovered from a corner of the flat. The police have sent the body for post-mortem and the post-mortem will be conducted on Monday when the family members arrive. Police have recorded the statement of the wife and also got her medical done. The report has confirmed that Niharika was assaulted. The wife told that she had reached home late due to NGO work.
