The state government has constituted a committee headed by Engineer-in-Chief (Irrigation) C Muralidhar to make a comprehensive assessment of the construction of The Hussain Sagar Lake.
Earlier, Chief Minister As directed by K. Chandrashekhar Rao, the Irrigation and CAD division has formed 15 teams to monitor the flood situation in these lakes. Recently, due to unprecedented rain in and around the GHMC area, most of the 185 lakes in the city limits have put pressure on their carts and control infrastructure beyond full tank level capabilities.
According to the orderissued here on Wednesday, after careful consideration of the matter, the government decided to constitute a committee to assess the construction of the Hussain Sagar Lake. The committee will consider structural improvements with structural stability elements, hydrological elements, flood routing and other elements and will submit a report in 15 days, the order said.
